Simplyhealth Great North Run 2017
Date: 10 Sep 2017
Location: Newcastle to South Shields
Non-refundable registration fee : £35.00
The Simplyhealth Great North Run will be held on Sunday 10 September 2017.
More than 1 million runners have taken part in the Great North Run since it began in 1981. They include Natalie, who ran the race last year and explained in her own words why she decided to enter.
Another Howard League member, who ran the Great North Run in 2014, said: “The Great North Run is one of the biggest sporting events in the world, with some 57,000 runners taking part, and it was a privilege to be involved. You start in Newcastle, which is one of the UK’s best and friendliest cities, and then you head over the magnificent Tyne Bridge to Gateshead.
“Thousands of people line the route to cheer you on, and you get a wonderful view of the sea as you arrive at the finish line in South Shields.”
In acquiring a Great North Run place online, you agree to pay a non-refundable £35 registration fee and to raise at least £350 (excluding Gift Aid) for the Howard League for Penal Reform.
All runners will receive a technical t-shirt and a fundraising guide full of tips on how to reach the sponsorship target.
If you already have a place in the race and would like to run for the Howard League, please email us. We will send you a technical t-shirt and fundraising pack.
Before allocating places in Challenge Events the Howard League may carry out discreet and confidential checks to ensure that the activity is suitable for each applicant.
