Dr Helen Churcher

Research and Project Officer

Helen works to develop, disseminate and promote the charity’s research activities, liaising with stakeholders, academic networks and early career researchers.

She monitors safety in custody statistics, and develops and conducts the research activities of the Commission on Crime and Gambling Harms.

Helen compiles and edits the Early Careers Academic Network bulletin and is working to develop the network. She also assists with the organisation of research events, including the Howard League’s international Crime, Justice and the Human Condition conference, held in Oxford in September 2022.

She has a PhD in history and has previously worked in education.
