Letter to the Howard League from Lucy Frazer QC MP on charitable status of secure schools

“Our intention is to clarify the law to guarantee providers the freedom and autonomy required to meet their statutory duty to reduce reoffending and improve outcomes for this vulnerable cohort. We intend for the proposed amendment to apply to the operation of a secure school only and to be tightly drafted so that it does not extend charitable status to the providers of other education or justice institutions.” Lucy Frazer QC MP.
