Response to the Ministry of Justice’s call for evidence on neurodiversity in the criminal justice system

“The Howard League for Penal Reform welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Ministry of Justice’s call for evidence on neurodiversity in the criminal justice system.
“At present the criminal justice system is not fit for purpose for people with neurodevelopmental disorders. Radical change is required to ensure that people with neurodevelopmental disorders are diverted away from the criminal justice system and do not become further entrenched in it.”
